The School is proud of its many and varied links with the local community, these include:
- A termly newsletter, WOW (World Of Witton) keeping us in touch with parents and the local community.
- Shared activities with pupils from Newfields Special School
- Centre of Excellence for the teaching of Art, exhibiting our work in many local venues including Blackburn Cathedral, Witton Park Visitors Centre and Queens Park Hospital
- Support for local charities, including Arthritis Care and Save The Children
- Involvement in an environmental projects in partnership with Groundwork Trust
- A Parents as Educators programme informs parents on educational issues by directly involving them in the life of the school
- Extensive links with local employers through our extensive work experience programme and Young Enterprise Scheme
- Excellent curriculum links with Colleges of Further and Higher Education, Sixth Form Colleges and local partner primary schools
- As part of the Excellence in Cities initiative, a City Learning Centre has been built adjacent to the school. This exciting development will provide a state of the art computer centre for use by pupils, staff and the community.
